Matilda de Angelis

Matilda de Angelis is an actress and singer whose artistic journey began early, studying violin and acoustic guitar before moving into song-writing in her early teens. Her breakthrough came with Veloce come il vento, directed by Matteo Rovere, a performance that earned her the Nastro d’Argento – Biraghi Award and established her as one  of Italy’s most promising talents. She went on to star in Tutto può succedere, the Italian adaptation of Parenthood, and received further recognition with the Flaiano Award and the “Revelation Actress of the Year” at the Taormina Film Fest.

Her career has since moved seamlessly between auteur cinema and international productions, including Una famiglia, presented at the Venice Film Festival, and The Undoing, directed by Susanne Bier and starring Nicole Kidman and Hugh Grant. Her film credits also include colla-borations with directors such as  Alessandro Gassman and Sydney Sibilia. She was named a Shooting Star at the Berlin International Film Festival and later received the Kinéo Award at the Venice International Film Festival.

More recently, she presented Robbing Mussolini at the Rome Film Festival and leads the Italian chapter of the Russo Brothers’ series Citadel.

Her upcoming work includes Lidia Poet (Season 2) and Citadel for Amazon Prime Video, where she stars as Diana, alongside new films such as Fuori and Adriatica. She will also appear in Dracula — A Love Tale, directed by Luc Besson.
