Eduardo Scarpetta, a Neapolitan actor with a strong theatrical heritage, trained at the Centro Sperimentale di Cinematografia in Rome, developing his craft both academically and on stage from an early age.
He made his film debut in Pericle il nero, presented at the Cannes Film Festival, and gained wide recognition with L’amica geniale, based on the novels by Elena Ferrante.
His performance in Qui rido io, directed by Mario Martone, earned him the David di Donatello for Best Supporting Actor. He has since continued to work across film and television, with roles in Le fate ignoranti, directed by Ferzan Ozpetek, and I Leoni di Sicilia, the first chapter of the Saga dei Florio presented at the Rome Film Festival.
His upcoming work includes the third and final season of the Netflix original The Law According to Lidia Poët, created and written by Guido Iuculano and Davide Orsini, as well as the colossal The Resurrection of the Christ, directed by Mel Gibson.
With a natural intensity and a strong connection to his theatrical roots, Eduardo Scarpetta stands out as one of the most compelling actors of his generation.
